Fun under the sun and beneath the stars at the world famous Hollywood Bowl is practically a rite of passage for local music lovers. The summer fun begins with this season’s much anticipated Opening Night on June 22 with a star-studded concert featuring brand new Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame inductees Reba McEntire and Chaka Khan, as well as a spectacular fireworks climax. Julie Andrews will serve as host and all proceeds will benefit the LA Phil and its music programs.
The redheaded Queen of Country Music and the Queen of Funk will definitely stir things up. Chaka Khan wowed audiences in her body-hugging suit at the recent American Idol finale, and Reba McEntire always delivers a rousing and entertaining performance.
